Our homage to the Augustinian Sisters and Canada's first hospital - 1639 - located in Quebec City. The first three Augustinian Sisters were called by France to come to Canada by the Duchess of Aiguillon to provide medical care to the settlers of the first French colonies. They opened Canada's first hospital, Hotel Dieu and the province still runs it today.
While enduring a lengthy renovation in 2015, excavation experts discovered that the Sisters documented and saved everything throughout generations including medicinal recipes created from their extensive gardens.
Our Monastere recipe is an interpretation of the anti-viral, anti-bacterial formula found in the cellars of the monastery, also made to assist with respiratory issues in the hospital.
We created our spray and oil to assist during the 2020 pandemic.
